Finally Settled...

...well, I don't know how settled I'd call this, but compared to yesterday where I worked from 4 different places, this is settled! Due to MANY delays because of air traffic control issues, we finally landed and got to our hotel in DC after midnight. We were staying at the Grand Hyatt right by Matt's office. I guess the guy who checked us in must have felt sorry for us because he upgraded us to a KICK-BUTT suite. I could have lived there for 2 years!

Anyway, last night we got into our new "temporary apartment" and we're both VERY pleased with it! It's a brand new high-rise building in "Pentagon City". This morning we walked to Starbucks for Matt's coffee fix and then I went to the gym on the 18th floor and overlooked the Pentagon while on the treadmill. Pretty nice views. It's a fully furnished apartment, so we can actually cook and all that good stuff. I went grocery shopping on my lunch hour to Costco so we could have some food in the house. I included a picture from our balcony that overlooks, yes, Costco and Nordstrom! Mom, you'd be in heaven! There's even a Best Buy, Macy's and a few others stores right in our parking lot!

Last night, in the pouring rain, we looked at a place in Old Town Alexandria, VA and absolutely FELL IN LOVE! I know we all believe everything happens for a reason, and if this place works out, that would be the truth! It's more awesome than we could ever imagine, talk about the absolute WOW factor! The owners are a young/professional couple, originally from Dallas, and their last name is GRAY and they are moving to Amsterdam. We are really hoping they liked us too! They have others who are looking at the property and we will know something next week. PLEASE KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED FOR THIS ONE! And, there would be TONS of space for lots of people to come visit!

So Matt & I decided we were going to blog our journey and adventures in DC over the next few years, so bear with us as we learn how to do this! Thanks to Lisa & Krista for the pointers. This will hopefully eliminate emails with large attachments! Mark this as a favorite and make sure to check back often!

xoxo
