How can we already be falling down on the job?? Well, to be honest, nothing to exciting to be writing about. Since I last posted, we went to Dallas for our first weekend home since the move. Honestly, as nice as it was to be home, I was just excited to get back to DC. While home, the movers came and picked up our stuff, which was a joke in itself with the fact to took two days and Matt and I actually had most of our stuff packed! Somehow it worked out that I had to be back in DC, so Matt stayed back in Dallas to deal with it! ;-)
That said, the movers come on Tuesday, the 22nd! I'll officially be in the house the days our goods get delivered, and leave the next day for Dallas, yet again! Have I really left?
A re-cap of our last two weeks:
1. We watched three seasons of Entourage
2. Shopped for new furniture, which we didn't find
3. Matt's been sick with the chills and sweats (he thinks it's alcohol poisoning, but we didn't have THAT much to drink!)
4. Wii, Wii & more Wii. I bought us a Wii when I found out it was official that we were moving here. However, we never opened it. Then, with as crazy as we've been going in the apartment, I brought it back with me from Dallas last week. So, the race has been on between Matt & I to see who hits PRO level first in tennis...AND we just bought Dance Dance Revolution for the Wii...so practice those dance skills for when you visit!
5. Matt's been showing off his cooking skills - we haven't eaten out much at all, and try to cook most nights. I've cooked a few, but Matt really enjoys this as his creative outlet compared to his daily accounting work!
Other than that, nothing much else been going on...but should have a lot over the next two weeks with the move, so stay tuned!
xoxo

A DC 4th of July...
First of all, you know you live in a big city when you have to take public transportation to the airport, which is where I sit as I write this! That journey entails dragging luggage through the Costco parking lot, through the "mall", on the Metro, arriving at the airport. Of course I allowed plenty of time to get here this morning, and all that said, including security, total time: 30 minutes. So here I sit, with an hour and a half before boarding!
Anyway, this past week & weekend was a good one. First of all, as most of you know, we got the house we wanted! And we couldn't have asked for a more perfect place. A short three blocks to the Metro and about six blocks to King Street, which is Alexandria's version of a Main Street with tons of restaurants and drinking establishments.
The House!!!
So on the 4th, we were wishing that we had our bikes because there are an unbelievable number of bike paths through DC & VA, so we decided to go rent bikes in our new home town. We figured we take a nice easy ride towards Mount Vernon, home of George Washington. Well, 20 miles later, we were done. While it was probably the most beautiful bike ride ever, it kicked my butt! The entire trail is along the Potomac River, so there's great scenery. Guess I need to get back on the bike more often!

Then that evening, and how we had energy I have no clue, we went to the top of our building to watch fireworks. We overlook the Pentagon and the Washington Monuments, so it was a great backdrop for fireworks.
Other than that, we shopped, cooked, watched some movies & got much deserved massages.
Oh yeah, the best part, Matt surprised me with tickets to Mamma Mia Sunday night. We had a great time, and he even REALLY enjoyed it!
